Best Wildlife to See on Kauai by Month

Kauai offers incredible wildlife viewing throughout the year. Hawaiian monk seals, honu and nēnē can be seen year-round, while other species are seasonal. Humpback whales visit Hawaiʻi during the winter months, mōlī (Laysan albatross) are typically present from November through July, and ʻuaʻu kani (wedge-tailed shearwaters) return from March through November.
