A 3–4 mile roundtrip hike climbs a mountain to sweeping panoramic views of mountains, forests, rivers, towns, and the ocean. Much of the trail is shaded as you hike through forest, before the views—and cooling breezes—open up near the summit. Expect muddy, slippery stretches in the forested sections. Once you break out into the open, the fresh breeze and wide-ranging views feel invigorating. Cold drinks (carried by Paul) and local snacks (or familiar favorites, if you prefer) are well-earned and especially satisfying. The tour is about 3 hours.
