Bike Tour for Foodies

$285.00

Coastal bike ride with secret overlooks, beaches and stops at 5 local eateries.

The Kapaa bike path, formally known as Ke Ala Hele Makalae ("The Path that Goes by the Sea"), is epic, so we'll take our time to enjoy it. We meet for a delicious breakfast before our 9 mile bike ride (or 7 miles if you prefer to cut it a little short) along the eastern coast of Kauai on beach cruiser bicycles (or e-bikes for an extra $30 pp). Then we reward ourselves with shave ice, taro donuts, local chocolate tasting (Mon-Fri), poke, fresh fruit, and/or smoothies.

As we eat, we’ll talk story and I’ll tell you about Kauai—its people, history, culture, plants, and wildlife, along with my favorite places to go and things to do. During the ride, I’ll guide you to tucked-away overlooks and quiet beaches off the beaten path, keeping an eye out for whales (December through April), endangered Hawaiian monk seals, nēnē (Hawaiʻi’s state bird), and other local wildlife.

The route follows a paved bike path rather than a roadway, so you can relax without traffic as you take in the scenery. I’ll also bring along cold water, Gatorade, and coconut water for you to enjoy at each stop.

$285 covers the first person, and it’s $50 for each additional person. Max group size of 7. The tour is about 5 hours.

E-bike upgrades are available for an additional $30 per person.
